2009-02-18

Awe…thanks, Mom! How did you know these were just what I wanted?!

Interchangeable dinosaur parts. Perfect for my little dino guy!

Day 48 – February 17, 2009

2009-02-17

Lincoln bedroom. King-sized 4 poster bed. Jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room. TV with DVD player. Chateau Avalon. Very cool place. Some of the other amazing rooms included a pirate-theme, Havana, Jesse James, Frontier, library w/hidden bedroom (secret door behind the bookshelf). Oh yeah, and cheese blinzes w/ fruit for breakfast in my room. Yum.

Day 47 – February 16, 2009

2009-02-16

President’s Day – had the day off so I decided to visit the scrapbook store in Mexico. Picked up a few goodies, including a cute new stamp set from Inque Boutique.

Day 46 – February 15, 2009

2009-02-15

Mmmm…I love coffee…it’s so good…yum yum…

(Yeah, it’s really milk Collin made himself in Marc’s coffee cups! Pretty funny.)

Day 45 – February 14, 2009

2009-02-14

Flowers from Marc – delivered to my front door (as he scurries off to district wrestling). His school’s ag group always does a beautiful job! I loved the shiny foil paper strips in the vase.

Day 44 – February 13, 2009

2009-02-13

My first time making chocolate-covered strawberries. I made them for Collin’s pre-school teachers (and myself, of course). I must say they turned out FABULOUS!!

Day 43 – February 12, 2009

2009-02-12

Marc’s side of the garage. Needs a little cleaning :)

Day 42 – February 11, 2009

2009-02-11

Collin’s art – note the guts, bones, heart and brain. I traced his outline and he did the rest, with no prompting from me!

Day 41 – February 10, 2009

2009-02-10

Me – trying to get a new profile picture. I hate glasses glare!

Day 40 – February 9, 2009

2009-02-09

My Christmas present from my boss – finally bloomed! It did not get nearly as tall as other people’s amaryllis, but I think it put all of its energy into flowers – 5 of them! Very cheery this time of year!

Friday, February 13, 2009

Day 39 – February 8, 2009

2009-02-08

Luke, I am your father…

Day 38 – February 7, 2009

2009-02-07

Saturday night, Marc, Collin & I went bowling at Rainbow Lanes. Collin did a pretty good job of carrying the ball over and pushing it, but one game was enough for him!

Day 37 – February 6, 2009

2009-02-06

Artwork by Collin. The building on the right is a hotel. The animals in the photo include two bats, a beaver, a squirrel, Rudolph, and a robin. (I drew Santa). The red is clouds and rain sliding down the house & raining on Santa.

Day 36 – February 5, 2009

2009-02-05

My morning commute.

Day 35 – February 4, 2009

2009-02-04

Marc hooked up his Playstation (1) & Collin LOVES the fighting games! And, he’s pretty good at it, too!

Day 34 – February 3, 2009

2009-02-03

Poor Comet got bitten by something outside. Took her to the vet & they gave her an antibiotic shot (so worth the extra $$ vs trying to give a cat pills – not a fun or easy task)!

Day 33 – February 2, 2009

2009-02-02

Collin snuggling with Dada.

Day 32 – February 1, 2009

2009-02-01

Comet the Wonder Kitty, by our front door.

Day 31 – January 31, 2009

2009-01-31

Where did January go? I certainly went too fast! Collin is cutting out Valentine’s hearts. I tried getting him to pose with the heart, but he wasn’t in the mood so the photos didn’t turn out too well. We’ll try another day.

Day 30 – January 30, 2009

2009-01-30

Work – reviewing the groundwater monitoring and modeling data for the chlorinated solvent contamination at the Maytag site.

Day 29 – January 29, 2009

2009-01-29

Playing Star Wars and hide & chase!

Day 28 – January 28, 2009

2009-01-28

Collin has been making his own dinner a few nights this week – a tortilla with some lunch meat, cheese, fruit and carrots on it - “just like the pioneers used to eat.” What a sweetie!

Day 27 – January 27, 2009

2009-01-27

It started snowing in the late evening – big fluffy snow. Not great for packing, but great for playing in!! (Of course, Marc got a snow day the next two days!)

Day 26 – January 26, 2009

2009-01-26

Playing a hide & chase game with Mommy & Daddy. Daddy hides somewhere and Mommy & Collin tiptoe down the hall until Daddy jumps out at us, then we run for base (the living room). Collin is so fast!

Day 25 – January 25, 2009

2009-01-25

Collin calls the robe I got from Linda for Christmas my “snuggie” (after those commercials for the Snuggy). He stays nice & warm wearing it!

Day 24 – January 24, 2009

2009-01-24

We went to Lainie’s 5th birthday party. It was held at their church in Holt’s Summit, where they have indoor court that doubles as a roller skating rink. Collin did pretty well. Marc & I both donned skates, but I’m not as good as I once was…but I didn’t fall down! Collin had a great time skating and playing the games.

Day 23 – January 23, 2009

2009-01-23

Collin LOVES Baby Rocket and loves to sniff her (esp. the duckie). He won’t sleep without her!

Day 22 – January 22, 2009

2009-01-22

Living and working in the state Capitol…

Day 21 – January 21, 2009

2009-01-21

Washed my car today to get the wintery grime off of it! Collin & I stopped by Daisy Delight for some ice cream after I picked him up from pre-school.

Day 20 – January 20, 2009

2009-01-20

I went home over lunch and watched some of the Inauguration activities for President Obama. President and Mrs. Bush were very gracious during their departure.

Day 19 – January 19, 2009

2009-01-19

MLK Day – had the day off. Price of gas, $1.69/gallon.

Day 18 – January 18, 2009

2009-01-18

Plant some seeds – ranging from flowers to radishes to beans. We’ll see if they grow!

Day 17 – January 17, 2009

2009-01-17

I picked Maria up for a playdate with Collin. We stopped at Sonic for some ice cream on the way to our house. Those two are such good friends, I just love listening to their conversations!

Maria: We had a dog, but his leg got hurt and he went to heaven to live with God.

Collin: God lives in the clouds.

Maria: And Jesus died on the cross.

Collin: God made everything.

So deep. Then they started talking about Pink Panther.

Day 16 – January 16, 2009

2009-01-16

Monthly crop night at the Coca-Cola building – Charlene, me, Missy.

Day 15 – January 15, 2009

2009-01-14

My music man!

Day 13 – January 13, 2009

2009-01-13

I had to visit a site that was doing a injection to treat contaminated groundwater. That’s the drill rig in the background. The temperature was in the single digits!!! Thank goodness for coveralls (and cute pink accessories)!

Day 12 – January 12, 2009

2009-01-12

The city workers were working on the sewer line – and the sewer gas was coming in the house & made it smell just AWFUL!! So, I attempted to cover it up with a yummy candle. I ended up leaving the house for a while (had the day off for inauguration of the new governor).

Day 11 – January 11, 2009

2009-01-11

A typical Sunday at our house during wrestling season – Marc asleep on the couch!

Day 10 – January 10, 2009

2009-01-10

I heart my laptop! Shows “my pages” folder with my digiscrap layouts.

Day 9 – January 9, 2009

2009-01-09

My planner for work. I spent most of the day working on filling my ES III position. I wanted to move on it since the new governor would be taking office on Monday, and generally that means a hiring freeze. Fortunately, upper management was also motivated - it’s the fastest I’ve EVER seen a personnel action go in our Department – got approval to offer in less than one day & had to have the offer accepted that day!

Day 8 – January 8, 2009

2009-01-08

Collin created these pictures and decided that he had to frame them. Fortunately, I had some spare frames!

Day 7 – January 7, 2009

2009-01-07

My side of the closet filled with my cold weather clothes.

Day 6 – January 6, 2009

2009-01-06

On of my New Year’s Resolutions is to drink more water!

Day 5 – January 5, 2009

2009-01-05

On to week 2 of P365! I got Collin a puzzle for Christmas, but it was a bit too hard for him. I ended up doing most of it myself, but I did convince him to help every once in a while!

Day 4 – January 4, 2009

2009-01-04

Silly guy! Collin filled his jammy top with balloons for muscles and had fun posing for the camera!

Day 3 – January 3, 2009

2009-01-03

The weather was great today, so Collin and I went outside. I took down Christmas lights while Collin played. I inflated Frosty so he could dry out before packing him away!

Day 2 – January 2, 2009

2009-01-02

Collin’s art project using aquarium items from Marc’s classroom. Note the fisherman over the top….

Day 1 – January 1, 2009

2009-01-01

Marc and Collin working on a “project” together. They are so creative!

Project 365

Well, I reluctantly and half-heartedly decided to jump aboard the Project 365 band wagon. Initially, I didn’t want to do it b/c it seemed like EVERYONE was doing it b/c it was the “in” thing. But, I think it’s a neat concept to capture your year. So, here we go!
